Christopher Nolan is perhaps best known for directing the Batman films ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Batman & The Dark Night’. So you’d think with his latest venture, ‘The Inception’, you’d get a decent well thought out movie. But no, you don’t. At it’s core, the concept of ‘The Inception’ is incredibly groundbreaking. You’ve got guys who break into people’s dreams along with the quirky chick that played Juno who designs the dreams.
Where Nolan’s film fails is at explaining some of the most necessary components. Would it have been so difficult to at any point explain exactly what an ‘Inception’ is? No, you have to look up online. Luckily this reviewer will help you out and tell you that it’s the “dream within a dream” concept. Absolutely ridiculous that such a legendary filmmaker like Nolan would fail to dive deeper into it (pun intended LOL).
Perhaps the only thing worthwhile about watching the film is the stunt sequences. Joseph Gordon Levit in the rotating hotel scene is phenomenal. BUt you can watch that scene on Youtube now, so there’s no point in actually buying the movie.
Paul’s Score:
2/5 Stars
Paul, you really are missing the point. The way you said it, “inception” is a dream within a dream. The characters in the film explained it as “planting an idea in someone else’s mind.” There was nothing to look up on the internet because they said the definition in the movie! And Nolan diving deeper into the concept? He didn’t have to because he wanted people to think during the movie. He wanted the movie exactly as it is because he wanted people to question. You need to learn to realize that this film is different than any other film you watched and will ever watch. People don’t think during movies because they simply just watch. However, Inception needs people to think. And that’s what Chris Nolan wanted. He wanted to spice it up a bit. And don’t ever scold Nolan like that, he’s a film genius.
I am criticizing your review because it’s so bad since you don’t even know what you’re saying. You obviously weren’t paying attention to the movie like a critic should have. Oh and it’s “The Dark Knight,” “Inception” and “Joseph Gordon-Levitt.” I give your review a 1/5.
